I woke up this morning to find three inches of snow on the ground, and went to Weather.com to find a staple of Decembers in Michigan along the lake: a Lake Effect Snow Warning. Lovely.
I really do like the snow. It’s pretty, it helps make the day a bit brighter, and it gives the world a nice, clean look instead of the dead gray that you’d have otherwise at this time of year. I like watching the snow fall, and I like snowball fights and sledding. But I do not like driving in it, and I’m not a big fan of what it does to Jetta. Jetta began life as a Florida car (I would love to meet the lunatic who thought a black car with black interior was a good idea in Florida) and had never experienced road salt until a few years ago, and I feel bad subjecting her to it now, especially because I don’t wash her very often. Might have to change that at some point.
But anyways. It’s snowing. The roads are hell, and I am starting to wish I had gotten snow tires for my car. Some of the curves in the roads going downtown are more things that you power slide through than navigate. My apartment’s a major disaster, but blogging > cleaning, so here I sit, blogging. Afterwards I may find an excuse to kill time on Facebook, and so on until it’s 10 and time for bed.
Hopefully if I can get the batteries for my ancient digital camera charged up, I’ll take some pictures of what Sam’s done to my Christmas tree and fill you all in tomorrow.
